The Madison County Genealogical Society is located in Madison County, Nebraska and was established in June 1973.

The Society meets irregularly and meeting locations and times are not always the same so email us for information about
  the next event.

Our purpose is to help others with their genealogy and to encourage the study of family history.
At the current time the society can be reached by writing to:
                  Madison County Genealogical Society
                  C/O Nancy Zaruba
                  304 N. Cottonwood St.
                  Norfolk, NE 68701

Queries are researched for a minimum donation of $10.  A family group sheet is requested if possible.
  E-mail your query to mad.co.nebr.gene@outlook.com

You will get an email response from the member doing the research with more information about costs, further questions
regarding your search, etc.   We usually charge a minimal amount for our labor, plus costs for mileage, copies, postage, etc.
Our goal is to promote family history research and to help others with theirs at a reasonable cost.

We no longer publish a newsletter nor do we charge annual dues.  For many years we published a newsletter, first called
Newsletter and then since 2001 called Madison County Remembers ... which was originally published 4 times per year
and then 6 times a year.  These newsletters are now available on this website.  There is a lot of great information in
  them.

Our newsletters are also indexed in PERSI, Periodical Source Index. which is an index to Genealogy newsletters and periodical
published/compiled by the Allen County Public Library, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The Persi Index is available from many resources, one of the most readily available in Nebraska is through many public
  libraries and online via

MyHeritage which is free to Nebraska residents courtesy of the Nebraska Library Commission via NebraskaAccess:

All you need is a Nebraska Driver's License, State ID card, or a NebraskaAccess password available from any public library
  in Nebraska.

SPECIAL NOTE: Our e-mail address has changed.  The documents shown on our Resource page show our older addresses.
